Day 3

 

We got up early and made our way to 原宿(Harajuku).

The 原宿駅 (Harajuku Station).

Saw these 2 young girls all decked in hip hop attire & both of them were carrying the Disneybear. They look really cute!

 

竹下通り (Takeshita Street) is a popular street among the younger boys and girls with arrays of fashion stores, cafes & others along the street.

 

It is usually really packed but as it was still early, there wasn't much people walking along the street and in fact, some stores weren't open yet.

 

We walked down the street & saw KDDI Designing Studio which we went in to take a look. Realized that there is a cafe upstairs and so we made our way up for an early lunch.

The cafe is located on Level 5 and we wanted to sit outdoor for it overlook the area but the summer heat wasn't making it a visible choice,so we eventually sat indoors,

 

I had the Special Egg over Rice with Fried Shrimps.

 

The BF had the Loco-Moco Hamburger with Rice.

 

Honestly, the food was mediocre but the cafe is located at a nice venue, away from the crowd.

We went to Laforet after lunch.

 

The entire Laforet consists of numerous levels, there is even 1.5, 2.5 & more which splits each level into 2.

 

I got a couple of stuff at Laforet & went on to KiddyLand.

I really wanted to make this Rilakkuma mine!

I bought some Rilakkuma stuff & we went off to Omotesando Hills.

We were walking around the mall &stumbled upon 表参道(Miyashita)

selling 半熟カステラ (Nama Castella)!

After all the raves I heard about it, I simply had to give it a try.

Nama means raw or uncooked & Castella is Japanese sponge cake but rest assure that the sponge cake is cooked, It is half baked to create the creamy texture in the middle.

 

This is the Original Flavour.

This is the Caramel Flavour.

I prefer the Original while the BF prefer the Caramel.

To be honest, we wasn't 'wow-ed' by it, probably because of the too high expectations after hearing so much about it but it was good nonetheless.

 

We walked around the place awhile more & left Harajuku.

Look at the crowd in afternoon when we were leaving.

 

The weather was really a killer, the summer heat gave me a headache & we went back to the hotel so that I can take a rest.

 

After a couple hours of rest, I was all ready to head out for dinner.

We went to Shinjuku MyLord which have the top 3 levels dedicated to dining establishments.

The BF was craving for his all time favorite 豚カツ (Tonkatsu) so we went in search for a restaurant which serves 豚カツ.

And we very quickly spotted とんかつ和幸 (Ton Katsu Wako) & got seated inside.

 

The BF had the Moriawase Set which consists of 3 types of katsu (Hire, Rosu & Cheese Katsu).

 

While I had the 夏の季節限定おすすめ商品 ( Summer Limited Recommended Set).

The set includes a shrimp, minced katsu & scallop cream croquette with rice, soup, pickles and appertiser.

The scallop croquette was good, it was really creamy & flavorful!

More shopping & walking after dinner before heading back to the hotel.
