♥ 日本.夏.2010 ♥ Day 6

Day 6

I woke up with the craving for soba & since we decided to shop at Takashimaya Shinjuku today,

we went there to look for my soba.

We quickly sat inside the restaurant 総本家 小松庵 on level 13 of Takashimaya Shinjuku upon seeing soba food display.

All happy & looking forward to having soba.

The summer sun was blazing & it felt pretty good overlooking from above.

Some tamagoyaki to start with.

It was pretty good but not good enough to make a mark on the list of superb tamagoyaki.. haha...

I had the Hot Claypot Soba with Ebi Tempura & Duck Meat

Broke the egg yolk & stirred it together with everything else.

This is really good, the soba noodles was thicker than usual & goes really well with the flavourful broth.

The BF has the Beef with Cold Soba Set.

He is not a fan of soba and yet he enjoyed this.

And he sang praises for the beef as well for it's tenderness & the complementing sauce.

Satisfied me after the meal outside the restaurant.

We walked around Takashimaya Shinjuku before meeting Kumi.

We were heading to the 第43回葛飾納涼花火大会 (43rd Katsushika Nouryou Hanabi-taikai), a summer fireworks festival!

The station was all crowded & I was feeling excited already.

Through the crowd, we got through!

Not much pictures were taken as the fireworks were about an hour long

which we decided to sit back & capture the beautiful lights through our eyes.

After the wonderful display of fireworks, we walked a long long way to the main road to avoid the massive crowd at the station.

Among the crowds, there were many girls wearing yukata & they all look so good, adorned with pretty & exquisite accessories.

We walked & walked for quite some time before getting to the main road & went straight to have a late dinner.

We were all pretty hungry as we missed dinner when making our way in the late afternoon to the festival.

All of us readily agreed to have korean BBQ.

As usual, the korean fare comes with various appertizers, I especially like the marinated shredded radish.

Greens for the BBQ meat.

We had a korean pancake, I am not too sure what this is called but it was really good.

Maybe because we were all too hungry, it was gone within minutes.

We ordered 2 sets of meat to share, 2 slices of pork belly per set.

Here comes the BBQ-ing action.

Ready to be eaten!

All the fatty goodness wrapped with kimchi in sesame leaf, this is so so good!

The fatty meat was just so addictive and so we ordered another serving.

The  lovely day ended with this sinfully awesome meal ♥♥♥
